Learning baby body language is always a challenge! Here’s a “cheat sheet” on behaviors that can clue you in that your baby is hungry.

  • Sucking movements
  • Putting fingers near mouth
  • Turning head from side-to-side
  • Opening mouth
  • Sucking on clothing
  • Sticking out tongue
  • Rooting towards anyone when held in nursing position
  • Being fussy or frantic
  • Puckering lips
